Archaeological (material) sources play an important role in studying the history and culture of Turan during the period of Achaemenid rule. From the twentieth century to the present day, archaeological research conducted in Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan has identified and studied numerous monuments and artifacts related to the history of this period. These sources provide important evidence for reconstructing the political, economic, and cultural life of Turan under Achaemenid rule, as well as its role within the empire. This article presents a scientific analysis of archaeological data concerning the location, research history, and types of archaeological monuments reflecting the history of the Bactrian satrapy discovered in the territories of Turan and Iran during the sixth–fourth centuries BC.
