THE PROBLEM OF PERSONAL IDENTITY AND SELF-PRESENTATION IN SOCIAL NETWORKS
This article analyzes the impact of social media on adolescent identity formation from philosophical and psychological perspectives in the
context of a modern digital society. It explores key concepts such as self-presentation, social comparison, role models, and the influence
of online audiences on adolescents’ self-perception. The study highlights that social media platforms function not only as communication
tools but also as significant epistemic spaces for identity construction. Furthermore, the paper examines the tension between virtual
identities and authentic selfhood, particularly among teenage girls. The author emphasizes the importance of maintaining authenticity,
developing self-awareness, and making conscious choices in the face of growing technological influence.
