This article analyzes, from a scientific and pedagogical perspective, the necessity of improving the content of forming students’ professional competence in programming within the higher education system based on artificial intelligence technologies. It is substantiated that in the context of the modern labor market and digital economy, specialists are required not only to possess coding skills, but also to demonstrate algorithmic thinking, data handling, problem modeling, effective use of AI tools, result evaluation, ethical responsibility, and independent decision-making abilities. The article contributes to the improvement of curricula, course programs, and methodological support in higher education institutions.
