This article analyzes the internal migration of Kashkadarya region’s population to Tashkent city from ethnological and anthropological perspectives. Based on field research, in-depth interviews with informants, and survey results (n=150+), three main aspects of migration are examined: the formation of translocal identity, social capital mechanisms, and cultural hybridization processes. The study found that 50.0% of respondents identify themselves simultaneously as both ‘Kashkadaryans’ and ‘Tashkentians’. The role of bonding and bridging networks within P. Bourdieu’s social capital framework was empirically substantiated. Migration was shown not to erode cultural identity but rather to expand it, giving it a multi-layered character.
