In the studies, the influence of plant phytomass on humus reserves, humus formation in virgin, rainfed and irrigated typical
serozem soils under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors, depending on the plant formation, common in the foothill
adyrs of the Chirchik-Angren district, was studied. In the study area, depending on the age of soil development, geographical
location, type of vegetation, soil surface coverage by plants, patterns of changes in the content and reserves of humic substances
were determined. These indicators reflect aspects of preventing soil erosion, enriching it with organic matter, restoring,
maintaining and increasing fertility, and make it possible to predict.
