The relationship of somatotype and internal organ size in adolescents of both sexes has been studied intensively with volunteers
from the Russian cohort and almost unstudied in residents of Uzbekistan. The aim of this study is to compare the size of internal
organs according to ultrasound examination in prepubertal young men with ecto-, meso- and endomorph somatotype. The study
involved 247 adolescent boys aged 10 to 12 years. Subjects were determined by Heath-Carter somatotype and abdominal organ
and thyroid dimensions using ultrasound morphometry. As a result of comparisons, the correlation between somatotype and the
size of internal organs was revealed. It was shown that the subjects with ectomorph somatotype have smaller sizes of the liver,
pancreas, spleen and thyroid gland than adolescents with meso- and endomorph physiques. Thus, it is possible to focus on the
constitutional features of the body as a factor that can influence the results of ultrasound examination of internal organs.
