This article provides a theoretical and analytical examination of the art of talmeh one of the significant artistic devices in Eastern
literature and its role in the poetics of Nurullah Gench, one of the prominent representatives of modern Turkish poetry. The art of
talmeh is discussed as an aesthetic device that enriches the semantic layers of a text through references to historical, religious, and
mythological events. In the article, the allusions used in Nurullah Genç’s poems are classified according to their content, and
references to prophets and saints, historical figures, famous love narratives, and mythological images are analyzed with examples.
In particular, through figures such as the stories of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Sulayman, the image of Nero, and symbolic pairs
like Layla and Majnun, Farhad and Shirin, the poet’s religious and spiritual worldview, Sufi perspectives, and the psychology of
the modern individual are revealed in harmony.
