This article analyzes the theoretical foundations underlying the formation and development of the concepts of discourse and internet
discourse in modern linguistics. From a comparative-analytical perspective, it examines the specific approaches of foreign, Russian,
and Uzbek linguists to internet discourse, highlighting its primary linguistic and pragmatic characteristics. The study substantiates
the role of the principles of multimodality, interactivity, hybridity, intertextuality, anonymity, and linguocultural features in digital
communication. Furthermore, it analyzes the impact of internet communication on the language system, as well as the
transformation of communicative strategies and national-cultural values.
