SOME REFLECTIONS ON THE SOURCES ON THE HISTORY OF AGRICULTURE OF THE SAMARKAND REGION IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE XIX-EARLY XX CENTURIES
This article uses archival documents, reviews of statistical committees and reference materials, as well as the works
of Russian oriental historians, geographers, travelers and representatives of other areas, which are sources of that
period that provide information about the state of agriculture, the main branch of the economic life of the
Samarkand region in second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The article also reveals agriculture in the region,
in particular, the state of land affairs, the amount of arable land, irrigation work, the cultivation of wheat, rice and
cotton, as well as the policy of the imperial government in this regard
