INHERITANCE OF MORPHOLOGICAL TRAITS AND YIELD INDICATORS IN COTTON VARIETIES, LINES, AND HYBRIDS WITH DIFFERENT GENOTYPES
This study investigated the inheritance characteristics of morphological and yield-related traits in different varieties, lines, and
hybrids of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). Based on geographically distant hybridization, dominance, heterosis, and additive
effects were analyzed in the F1 and F2 generations. The results demonstrated the predominance of dominance in large-boll varieties,
while yield traits were found to depend on genetic and ecological factors. Heritability estimates were determined to be at medium
and high levels. The study is of significant importance for developing high-yield cotton varieties and improving the efficient use
of genetic resources in cotton breeding.
