Bombyx mori is an insect of great economic importance in agriculture and the only biological source of natural silk. Natural silk is
durable, elastic, hygroscopic, and environmentally friendly, and is widely used in consumer goods, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and
biotechnology. On average, 180,000-200,000 tons of natural silk are produced worldwide annually, the majority of which comes
from silkworm cocoons. Thanks to the biologically active substances synthesized by microorganisms, the Bombyx mori cocoon
naturally enhances the quality and strength of the fiber, resulting in a pure, environmentally friendly product without chemical
additives.
