This article investigates the phytosanitary status and fungal diseases of an introduced plant species - Japanese spindle (Euonymus
japonicus Thunb.), which is widely utilized in urban greening systems under the conditions of urbanized ecosystems. As a result
of phytopathological observations, two dominant species of pathogenic micromycetes that cause severe damage to the decorative
appearance and immune system of the plant were recorded and taxonomically identified: Erysiphe euonymicola, the causative agent
of powdery mildew, and Colletotrichum euonymicola, the causative agent of anthracnose (necrosis).
