THE PROBLEM OF SOCIAL READAPTATION OF INDIVIDUALS AFTER DRUG ADDICTION AND THE ROLE OF THE TWELVE-STEP PROGRAM
The article theoretically analyzes the problem of social readaptation of individuals after drug addiction and the socio-psychological
mechanisms of the Twelve-Step Program in this process. The results of foreign scientific studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and
clinical studies were summarized. The analysis shows that participation in Twelve-Step mutual-help groups is associated with reduced
drug use, increased social support, and stronger positive social connections. The socio-psychological significance of the Twelve-Step
Program is explained through the mechanisms of social support, a sense of group belonging, sponsorship, and restoration of social roles.
