This article analyzes the socio-philosophical interpretation of the relationship between the individual and society in Abdulla Qodiriy’s works. Particular attention is paid to personal freedom, social responsibility, the pressure of the social environment, national and spiritual values, and the conflict between an individual’s aspirations and established social norms. The study applies socio-philosophical, comparative, hermeneutic and literary-textual analysis to the characters and social environment represented in O‘tkan kunlar and Mehrobdan chayon. The analysis shows that Qodiriy presents the tragedy of the individual not only as a private conflict, but as a consequence of obsolete social relations, patriarchal conventions and injustice. The article substantiates the importance of Qodiriy’s literary legacy for understanding the dialectics of individual freedom and social responsibility.
