This article studies the characteristics of the ancient customs, knowledge and folk beliefs about plants among the inhabitants of the Surkhan oasis, which is considered the southern region of Uzbekistan. In particular, wild plants that have a legendary and fetish significance among the population (koztikan, hazar isfand, plane tree, juniper, tudona, etc.), cultivated plants (grain, fruit trees, garden and melon crops), geographical names associated with plants in the area (Sayrab plane tree natural monument, Murch Babao mosque, Tut ota and others) were analyzed historically and ethnographically based on field research, scientific literature and sources.
