Socialist realism assigned the task of promoting communist values to art and literature, limiting the freedom of writers to choose their subject and style. However, some writers tried to preserve artistic freedom through allegory and symbolic images. In the process of analyzing the role of socialist realism in the literary process, the methods of writers to combat ideological restrictions, and the influence of Soviet literature on the current literary process, it can be seen that Soviet literature was manifested not only as an ideological tool, but also as a field of artistic experimentation. The study serves to reveal the limitations and creative strategies of Soviet literature.
