This article analyzes the popular uprisings that took place in the Bukhara Khanate from the second half of the 17th century to the mid18th century. In particular, it highlights the main factors behind these uprisings, including the increasing tax burden, the oppression of local officials, droughts, and the intensification of internal conflicts, which led to a sharp decline in the living standards of the population. The study also reveals that some uprisings took on a large-scale character and, in certain cases, were used as a political tool by the leaders of major tribal groups.
