The article analyzes the lexical and semantic features of toponyms based on personal names - "anthropotoponyms" - in English and Uzbek languages, as well as their specific similarities and differences. Despite the fact that the names belonging to this group constitute the majority in the toponymy of both nations, the reasons for their emergence, that is, the form-generating factors, in some cases are fundamentally different from each other, and in some cases are common, which is shown in the examples.
