This article provides a systematic analysis of the characteristic similarities between the pictographic scripts of the Oxus and Elamite civilizations. The Elamite pictographic writing is studied based on artifacts found on pottery from the sites of Tepe Yahya, Shahr-i Sokhta, and Shahdad. Monuments of the Oxus civilization -including Jarkutan, Dashly, Kattabulok, and others -contain sets of signs comparable to the Elamite script in both form and semantic content. Through the examination of pictograms, the article explores elements reflecting the economic activities of ancient societies, agriculture, irrigation systems, religious beliefs, and astronomical knowledge.
