In this study, the chitosan-copper Xz-Cu2+ complex synthesized on the basis of Apis mellifera chitosan was applied to winter wheat grain products and its effect against rust rust (Puccinia triticina) was studied in field test plots. According to the experimental results, a 1% solution of the Xz-Cu2+ preparation increased field germination by 8.3%, reduced the disease by 72%, and obtained an additional yield of 22.5 t/ha compared to the control option. Also, the Xz-Cu2+ complex preparation had a positive effect on the process of plant budding, root system development and heading. The results obtained showed that this preparation has high antibacterial efficiency, is rapidly biodegradable in the soil and environmentally safe. Therefore, this biopolymer preparation is a promising alternative to traditional chemical fungicides for sustainable agricultural practices.
