This article analyzes the anthroponymy of the Timurid era from a sociolinguistic perspective. It highlights the social, cultural, and religious significance of personal names, epithets, pseudonyms, and territorial identifiers characteristic of that period. Through anthroponyms, one can determine a person’s social status, lineage, religious affiliation, and geographical identity, which are examined on the basis of concrete examples. Furthermore, the pragmatic and sociopragmatic functions of anthroponyms found in the literary and historical sources of the Timurid era are demonstrated. The article also discusses the influence of Persian, Arabic, and Turkic cultural integration on naming practices, the role of religious beliefs in name selection, and the impact of historical events on the naming process.
