THE PRACTICAL STATE OF ORGANISING INDIVIDUAL STUDY WORK FOR STUDENTS IN HIGHER EDUCATION

The article focuses on significant reforms in the higher education system of Uzbekistan,initiated by the needs of socio-economic
development. Particular attentionis paid to the need to train highly qualified specialists and provide them withcontinuous training
in accordance with international standards. A key element of modernisation is the introduction of a credit-modular system, in
accordance withpresidential decrees, such as the ‘Concept for the Development of the Higher Education System’. This system
expands access to education, promotesmobility among students and teachers, and harmonises curriculawith labour market demands
and global standards. The article details the phased implementation of the system, emphasising its role in stimulatingindependent
learning, changing the role of the teacher to that of a mentor, andensuring objective assessment of knowledge. As a result, the
credit-modular systemis positioned as the foundation for the formation of competent andcompetitive personnel for national and
global markets.
