Under the action of ultrasonic waves in the rat liver mitochondria, a sharp decrease in the activity of cytochrome c oxidase was
observed. Deep depression was observed on the 1st and 3rd days of exposure. Such a pro-oxidant effect of ultrasonic waves can
enhance the formation of reactive oxygen species from the respiratory chain by reducing the activity of cytochrome c oxidase,
causing a violation of membrane lipoprotein structures and an increase in lipid peroxidation. The shotut and biosep extracts used
in the studies lead to some degree of restoration of cytochrome c oxidase activity in liver mitochondria.
