This article is dedicated to the research of the life and scientific legacy of the encyclopedic scholar Akmal al-Din al-Babirti, who held a significant place in the history of Islam in the 14th century, particularly within the scientific environment of the Mamluk Sultanate, and who integrated the Hanafi-Maturidi traditions of Mawarannahr and Anatolia with the Arab world. The relevance of the research is determined by the necessity to clarify existing contradictions in source studies regarding the scholar's nisba and origin.
