This article discusses the importance of acquiring knowledge in Islam, particularly the right of women to education, based on
religious, historical, and social sources. Islam calls upon every human being, including women, to seek knowledge and elevates
this act to the level of worship. The article analyzes the negative attitudes toward women during the pre-Islamic era of ignorance
and how Islam eliminated such injustices through Qur’anic verses and prophetic traditions. Evidence is presented showing that the
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) organized special educational gatherings for women and encouraged them to acquire
both religious and worldly knowledge.
