WOMEN’S LABOR IN AGRICULTURE DURING THE SOVIET PERIOD AND ITS SOCIAL CONSEQUENCES (A CASE STUDY OF 1940–1970)

This article analyzes women’s labor in agriculture in Uzbekistan during the Soviet period and its social consequences. Within the
framework of cotton production policy, the study examines the mechanisms of employing female labor, forms of forced labor,
and their impact on social life. Based on archival documents, periodicals, and scholarly literature, the article explores the role of
women in production processes and the effects of these factors on their health and social status. The findings reveal the complex
and contradictory nature of the use of women’s labor during the Soviet era.
