SCHOOL EDUCATION REFORMS IN UZBEKISTAN (1941-1945)

This article examines the principal reforms implemented in the system of school and secondary pedagogical education in the
Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic during the Second World War. It provides an overview of key governmental decrees and
normative documents and analyzes the impact of reforms introduced within the People’s Commissariat for Education of the
Uzbek SSR on the professional activities of teaching staff. Particular attention is devoted to changes in the system of final
examinations, the introduction of single-sex schooling, and measures aimed at strengthening discipline and improving the public
education system as a whole.
