This article analyzes the interrelation between allegory and metaphor in literary discourse and examines their linguocultural features. The
object of the study includes samples of Uzbek literature, particularly the novels “Bygone days” (Oʻtkan kunlar) and “Night and day”
(Kecha va kunduz). The paper discusses the theory of functional styles, the system of tropes, and specifically the semantic nature of
metaphor and allegory based on scholarly sources. Furthermore, within the framework of open and closed metaphors, the formation of
allegory as an integral semantic system is substantiated
