This article examines, from a scientific and pedagogical perspective, the methodological foundations for forming the competence of developing pupils’ reading literacy in future primary school teachers. In the study, the competence to develop reading literacy is interpreted as an integrative professional quality manifested through the unity of a future teacher’s theoretical knowledge, methodological skills, practical activity, and reflective experience.
