This article examines the phenomenon of corruption from a socio-philosophical perspective. It analyzes definitions of corruption formed across a broad historical spectrum, from ancient philosophy to modern Western and Eastern scholarly traditions, as well as theoretical approaches that explain its essence and their methodological significance. The article also argues that corruption is not only a legal offense but also a manifestation of a moral and cultural crisis in society.
