In this article, the author analyzes the coverage in the sources of the policy of the Soviet government on the development of new lands and resettlement of the population using the example of the Nurata oasis in Uzbekistan. It examines the development of new lands, the ongoing propaganda work to resettle people to new places, the further strengthening of the cotton monopoly within the framework of policies aimed at developing agriculture, and how the issues of labor migration are reflected in the studies created in Soviet times and the years of independence.
