This article analyzes the artistic function of speech composition in Nabijon Boqiy’s story “A Love Tale.” The author’s narration,
the characters’ monologues and dialogues, as well as figurative and linguopoetic devices, are interwoven to reveal the protagonists’
inner world, character traits, and the development of the plot. The study draws upon the theoretical views of Mikhail Bakhtin, Yuri
Lotman, and Gérard Genette, as well as Uzbek literary scholarship on speech composition. The analysis demonstrates that speech
composition in the story functions not only as a structural device organizing the narrative, but also as an artistic mechanism that
elevates the theme of love to a philosophical level, uncovers the characters’ psychological experiences, and provides the reader
with deep aesthetic pleasure.
