MORPHONOLOGICAL NEUTRALIZATION IN ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN WORD FORMATION
The article presents a comparative study of morphonological processes of neutralization in word formation in English and Russian.
It examines cases of neutralization of morphonological oppositions occurring in the formation of derived words, as well as their
conditioning by the structural and functional features of the word-formation systems. The study identifies common and specific
ways in which neutralization is realized in English and Russian and determines its role in the organization of word-formation
models.
