In this study, the effects of concentration and temperature on the optical properties of solution-processed D18 donor polymer and Y6 non-fullerene acceptor prepared in a halogen-free solvent were investigated. Absorption spectra of the samples were measured, and the concentration- and temperature-dependent variations of spectral parameters were analyzed. The results show that an increase in concentration leads to higher absorption intensity, while at higher concentrations molecular aggregation becomes more pronounced. An increase in temperature, on the other hand, results in a decrease in absorption intensity; however, the nearly unchanged absorption maxima indicate that the materials possess thermally stable optical properties. The obtained results are important for the development of high-efficiency polymer solar cells based on environmentally friendly solvents.
