In this work, polyampholyte was synthesized based on fibrous polyacrylonitrile, which contained nitrogen and phosphorus. Kinetic models of absorption of Cu2+ ions from artificial solutions onto a new fibrous sorbent were studied.

As a result, it was found that the obtained kinetic parameters correspond more to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model of the process, and it was found that the sorption of Cu2+ ion is more selective compared to other ions.

The main advantage of this sorbent is that it has the ability to adsorb ions significantly faster than granular sorbents. On the other hand, the sorbent easily absorbs metal ions even from low-concentration solutions. This was also found in experiments. The main reason for this is the large surface area of fiber sorbents. It is more economical than other methods used in the industry.
