SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES IN STYLISTIC NOTATIONS IN EXPLANATORY DICTIONARIES OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

The dictionary entry and the stylistic notation multifacetedly represent a linguistic unit in the dictionary. The article conducts a comparative analysis of the material from the Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian Language and the Comprehensive Explanatory Dictionary in terms of how they present the stylistic coloring of a word. Sometimes the same word in dictionaries is marked with different stylistic colorings, indicating differences in the methodology of lexicographic approach to the stylistic presentation of the linguistic unit. This leads to various interpretations in the dictionary entry as a whole, dedicated to the interpretation of a specific word. In the course of scientific research, methods of intralinguistic comparison and stylistic analysis of the word both in isolation and in context were used, determining the theoretical and practical significance of the issue under study
