In improving the system of voluntary psychological preparation of young football players for competitions, it is relevant to study the influence of the level of anxiety of athletes on voluntary activities. For this reason, teenage football players took part in the study, and this article examined the state of anxiety and personality of football players, and also analyzed the impact on the voluntary activities of athletes during competitions. Based on the correlation dependence, it was established which volitional qualities are important for maintaining a state of normative anxiety in teenage football players. In addition, to ensure the psychological stability of players and increase motivation for success in competitions, the necessary volitional qualities are formed and the normality of anxiety is ensured.
