The article examines the emotional state as a linguistic category. This category has certain features objectified in emotional phraseology. The emotional states expressed in these phraseological units have a structural nature, which is manifested in the identity of such structural elements as the subject and the reason, that is, the presence of the subject is the semantic level of one or more components of phraseology. The reason, on the other hand, as the structure of an element expressing emotional states, is not reflected either in the semantic aspect or in the phraseological structure outside the phraseological sign. The anthropocentric approach to language learning also makes it possible to systematically represent objectifying emotional states of phraseological units in the linguistic space in the form of the phraseosemantic field “human emotional states”, which helps to identify the elements of the studied phraseology that represent its content
