FUNCTIONAL AND SEMANTIC ASPECTS OF PERSONAL NAMES IN KHOREZM EPICS
This article analyzes the functional and semantic features of personal names, particularly Iranian-origin onomastic units, found in the lexicon of Khorezm epics. Names such as “Gul”, “Bonu”, “Khusrav”, and “Faridun” are examined not only as identifiers of personal traits or social status but also as bearers of cultural and aesthetic values. The article also explores the commonality of these names with those found in classical written literature, especially in the works of Alisher Navoiy, and their role in reflecting national and religious thought. The study provides important insights into the historical roots and semantic depth of anthroponyms used in epic narratives.
