Just as some phenomena in existence are inextricably linked to each other in some way, linguistic units are also closely related to each other. They have their own similarities and differences. While some of their features have been studied, some are still awaiting their study. We can also say this about the phenomena of graduonymy and synonymy. The relationship between gradation and synonymy is one of the most complex and important issues in linguistics. Each of the synonymous words has certain level, stylistic or contextual differences. Through these differences, each synonymous word is used in its own way in different speech situations. The role of gradation in increasing the richness and expressiveness of speech is also considered significant. The analysis of these phenomena is a necessary tool in the development of language culture. The article examines the relationship between graduonymy and synonymy in the Uzbek language.
