This article provides a theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of identification as one of the key mechanisms of personality development. Within the frameworks of psychoanalytic, humanistic, analytical, and behaviorist approaches, the content, forms, and functions of identification are explored. The article also discusses the role of identification in personality ontogenesis and its relationship with social roles, gender, values, and self-identity. According to the research findings, identification is considered an important factor in personal growth, socialization, and self-awareness.
