This article investigates the distribution, density, and ecological significance of bivalve mollusks (Bivalvia) in fish farming systems. The research findings indicate that representatives of this group play a vital role in the natural food chain of aquaculture water bodies and contribute to water quality improvement through filtration. It was observed that mollusk density is directly influenced by the physicochemical properties of the water body, water temperature, nutrient levels, and the hydrological regime. Using fish farms in the Kashkadarya region as a case study, the species composition of mollusks, their ecological functions, and their role in forming the nutritional base for fish were analyzed. The results of the study are of practical importance for the effective use of biological resources and ensuring ecosystem stability in aquaculture.
