ABOLITION OF THE KHIVA KHANATE AND THE BEGINNING OF INITIAL AGRARIAN REFORMS IN THE KHOREZM PEOPLE’S SOVIET REPUBLIC

The article examines the abolition of the Khiva Khanate, the establishment of the Khorezm People’s Soviet Republic, and the process of implementing its initial agrarian reforms. Based on archival documents and periodical materials, it analyzes the land and water policy of 1920–1924, the distribution of land to landless and smallholding peasants, the restoration of irrigation facilities, and the initial measures for developing agrarian cooperation. The findings of the study provide an important scholarly basis for exploring the formation of the agrarian policy of the KPSR.
