This article examines the features of the spread of dangerous mudflow processes in the mountainous and foothill areas of the Namangan region. The natural factors that determine their formation, as well as the watercourse basins within which these processes are most active, are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to assessing the dangerous impact of mudflows on the population and their places of residence. Taking into account the fact that a significant part of the settlements of the region are located in the valleys of Chadaksay, Rezaksay, Podshootasay, Kosonsay and Chortoksay, the causes of mudflows within these catchment areas are identified.
