This article analyzes the linguistic phenomenon of taboo and its social functions in society. The study examines the lexical and semantic features of taboo words, their use in speech through euphemisms, and their role in preserving social and cultural values. Furthermore, it demonstrates that taboo is closely connected with language development, the reinforcement of cultural values, and the maintenance of social order.
