RESEARCH OF SPORTS TERMS IN UZBEK LINGUISTICS
The article is devoted to the systematic study of sports terminology in Uzbek linguistics. It analyzes the historical development of
sports terms (starting with ancient folk games and epic epics), their rapid development in the second half of the 20th century, the
revival of terms for national sports (wrestling, horse riding, etc.) during the period of independence, as well as the borrowing and
adaptation of terms for global sports (from English and Russian) into the Uzbek language.
