This article analyzes the fact that the emergence of environmental problems is not only related to natural processes but is also inextricably linked to the characteristics of the economic, political, cultural, and technological development of society. Under the conditions of globalization, environmental risks transcend national borders, becoming a complex social phenomenon that affects the fate of all humanity. The article highlights issues of social determination of the environmental crisis, consumer culture, industrialization, urbanization, environmental injustice, and global environmental responsibility. Furthermore, from a socio-philosophical perspective, the article analyzes the manifestations of environmental problems and substantiates spiritual, institutional, and practical approaches to their mitigation.
