This article explores the intensification of desertification processes in Uzbekistan and the main factors contributing to environmental problems. The study analyzes both natural-geographic and anthropogenic causes of desertification, with special attention given to land degradation, declining water resources, deforestation, and climate change. Based on practical observations and statistical data from the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions of Navoi and Bukhara, the article reveals the socio-economic consequences of desertification. Moreover, national and international experiences in combating desertification are reviewed, and effective recommendations are proposed. The research findings aim to support the development of scientifically grounded approaches to ensuring environmental safety and promoting sustainable development.
