This article provides a scientific analysis of the collectivization policy carried out in Uzbekistan in the 1920s and 1930s, its content, political foundations and socio-economic consequences. The study shows that the policy of rapid restructuring of agriculture of the Soviet administrative-command system contradicted local conditions and traditional farming. The social crisis, demographic changes and economic decline resulting from the kulakization, forced collectivization, confiscation of property, and deportation of the population are covered based on scientific sources. It also analyzes the reassessment of these processes in historiography based on new methodological approaches during the period of independence.
