This study analyzed the antihypertensive activity of juice, peel, and seed extract of several local pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) varieties. Juice, peel, and seed extract of local pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) varieties exhibit concentration-dependent antihypertensive activity (100-500 mg/kg). The juice, peel and seed extract of local varieties of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) have concentration-dependent antihypertensive activity (100-500 mg/kg), and it was found that the value of this activity in general increases dynamically in the sequence “Aq dona (Tuyatish)” < “Aq shirin” < “Achchiq dona” < “Qora kayin” < “Kizil pomegranate”. These substances have been confirmed to significantly reduce SAQB and DAQB values under physiological conditions, as well as under experimental hypertension conditions 60 minutes after injection of adrenaline hydrochloride (0.25 mg/kg).
It is noted that the obtained experimental results can be used as a scientific basis for the development of antihypertensive dietary supplements and pharmacological drugs based on pomegranate extract.
